llan / gini gini / dydd nadolig
the first tune, llan, is one i found in the LlGC amongst the papers of llewelyn alaw (1828-1879). the second i first heard elsa davies (of cei newydd) play, which soon was being played around the aberystwyth welsh folk scene. it is from cass meurig's edition of the welsh fiddle book of john thomas, 1752. the third song was collected from myra evans of gilfachreda, an old pre-reformation tune. even though i had heard it before (on a siwsan george album), i finally learned this from jason lawday of bethlehem (llandeilo) and have since played it with elsa davies.

ffeindais y tiwn cynta, llan, yn y LlGC ymysg y tudalenau llewelyn alaw (1828-1879). clywais elsa davies (cei newydd) chwarae yr ail tiwn. mae'r tiwn yn poblogaidd gyda'r cerddorion aberystwyth ar hyn o bryd. mae'n dod o'r lyfr ffidl cymreig john thomas, 1752 (argraffiad cass meurig). cafodd y trydydd alaw ei gasglu o myra evans gilfachreda. hen alaw yw e (cyn-diwygiad). rwy wedi clywed y tiwn o'r blaen (albym siwsan george), ond dysgodd jason lawday bethlehem yr alaw i fi yn y diwedd. ers hynny rwy wedi chwarae y tiwn gydag elsa davies.
