Carnowen is written after my Great Grandmother, Jane Carnowen. It is followed by a traditional Welsh tune as found in the John Thomas manuscript. The last song is Lochaber Badger written by the piper Fred Morrison, taught to me by Elsa Davies.

Fernhill are the best representatives of Welsh folk music. Their new album Canu Rhydd artfully interweaves traditional Welsh music and poetry with modern esthetic, testing the boundaries of the genre. ceri 'gwal' owen-jones
This is a beautiful album - a culmination of a ten year long journey of an Estonian (and tundra sister) through Wales. Uplifting and moving... ceri 'gwal' owen-jones

Distinctive and different from what may well be the only recorded music available from Christine Cooper. Constantly revisiting to remind me just how good this is and to wish Christine well for the future. badgerist67
